One of the top mistakes made by business owners that are new to the online world, is to ignore that website designs need to be conversion optimized. Many are just happy getting a website that looks good, without considerating that it takes more than a pretty website to sell. It takes a well optimized design to make a sell. Then, after launching, they encounter visitor issues such as:
- "I can't find what I'm looking for on your site"
- "Your site is confusing"
- "How do I get started?"
And they'll only get these questions if they're lucky enough to engage a visitor with a poor design. Now, I'm not saying that with a well optimize website you won't get these questions, but you'll sure reduce navigation confusions from website visitors.
If this story sounds familiar to you, don't worry! You can still optimize your site for conversions. In fact, conversion optimization should be an ongoing process as new technology is introduced and the market changes.
There are 2 major components behind a well conversion optimized design: structure and psychology. The structure deals with the organization of content and products or services to create an easy to understand user experience. The psychology element is vital to create a logical flow of events that allow users to go through the sales funnel smoothly- among many other things.
Next time you decide to rebuild or create a new site, think about conversion optimization first, You want to hire someone that is aware of these components to create a website that is not only pretty, but that sells.
